THE GREAT PEACE: THE MOST INTERESTING STORY YOU’VE NEVER HEARD
This program will discuss the Great Peace made in 1840 among the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Comanche, Kiowa, and Plains Apache peoples, when around 10,000 people gathered near Bent’s Fort to end years of intertribal warfare. Other key 1840 events, including the Council House Fight and the Great Comanche Raid, will be explored.
