"A Cup of Comfort."
Arkansas Valley contributing author Lisa Gossman-Steeves.

Recently I had the opportunity to chat with Arkansas Valley contributing author Alicia (Lisa) Gossman-Steeves before the book signing of "A Cup of Comfort: Devotional for Mothers."
Lisa, a busy mom of three boys ages 8, 12 and 14, grew up in Southern California. The family came to the La Junta area in 2001 where her husband pastored the Nazarene Church. After his death from pancreatic cancer, she decided to stay in the area as not to uproot her sons. Her success as a writer has become evident through the publication of her articles, not only in A Cup of Comfort, but also in publications such as Blue Sky Quarterly and Ag Journal.
Lisa received her Bachelor’s Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University with a major in Sociology and Youth Ministries, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Religion with emphasis on Spiritual Formation from Northwest Nazarene University.
Her full life as mother, wife, student, and working professional has not deterred her enthusiasm for writing. The next planned endeavor is to write a book about the cancer experience of her family.
A Cup of Comfort® Devotional for Mothers is written by more than 100 Christian mothers and extends a hand to the faithful every day of the year. Featuring touching stories and biblical passages themes for each twelve months of the year-as well as daily reflections for each of the 366 days of the year-this touching volume reflects the joys and sorrows of motherhood. Copies are available for purchase at the Lighthouse in La Junta, and a copy will soon be available at the library.
